During the month of May we honor the long and storied history of Asian and Pacific Americans, and we celebrate all they have given to building our great Nation. As a country, we pride ourselves on our ideals and our status as the land of the free and the home of the brave - a place where people from across the world come to seek greater opportunities for a more prosperous life. The promise of America is possible because of the collective contributions of people from every walk of life and every corner of the earth.
Asian and Pacific Americans have placed their enduring imprint on this country through the arts and sciences, business and industry and in the military services.
As the Strength of the Nation, our Army has long been a leader in understanding the power and potential that is created by embracing diversity among our ranks. We are a world-class force because we recruit and integrate the best talent in ways that enhance decision-making and inspire high performance. From Soldiers and Civilians to our Families, we fully appreciate the tremendous talents of Asian and Pacific Americans. Throughout our Army's history, Asian and Pacific Americans have served valiantly and have provided leadership at every level as we have worked together to fight and win the Nation's wars.
This month is a time to celebrate and to pay tribute to the many triumphs of generations of Asian and Pacific Americans. We are grateful for all who have helped to shape America and to make America's Army what it is today - a place where we all stand proudly together in service to our Nation. Army Strong!
