April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and this year's theme is "Speak Up!" It is everyone's responsibility to intervene to stop behaviors that would harm a member of our Army Family or undermine unit cohesion. Fort Benning leaders instill a climate that does not tolerate, condone, or ignore sexist behavior, sexual harassment or sexual assault. We remain vigilant and steadfast in our commitment to end sexual harassment and sexual violence.

We have work to do. These behaviors are not only criminal, they destroy the trust and respect that are essential elements of our combat effectiveness, as well as the trust of the citizens in whose name we fight.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month is an opportunity for every Fort Benning Soldier, civilian and Family member to renew our commitment to end sexual harassment and sexual assault. No one can stand by and tolerate this behavior and together we can continue to shift our culture toward absolute intolerance for sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Fort Benning SHARP Hotline at 706-566-7393 and the DoD SafeHelpline at 1-877-995-5247.
