Fort Bennings new Mass Warning and Notification System launched yesterday. Common Access Card users with a .mil email account can now register to receive emergency and weather notifications.
To register, log in to a computer using a CAC and find the purple icon in the toolbar menu on the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Select the purple globe icon and choose the Self Service option to update information and add emergency contact options. If the purple globe icon is not visible, restart the computer.
This new crisis communication tool is key to ensuring personnel on Fort Benning have the ability to receive timely information to respond quickly in an emergency, said Terry Wydra, an installation emergency manager.
The Fort Benning MWN system provides alerts to registered users through multiple means, including options to receive alerts via computer desktop pop-ups, emails, telephone calls and text messages.
At this time, Family members without a .mil email account cant be registered. Anyone who has trouble accessing the new system to register should call the Emergency Management Modernization Program Helpdesk at 866-515-0551.
