The newest addition to Martin Army Community Hospital’s “Medical Home” opened last week during a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. Located in north Columbus, the medical home is called just that — the North Columbus Medical Home.

“Patients who live in certain zip codes were given the opportunity to enroll to this new medical home back in September, said Col. Timothy Lamb, MACH commander. “And with the staff of 35 and 5,100 patients enrolled here, this will ease up on their access to the main hospital. Certainly we are happy to help many Families close to their homes and who no longer have to travel 12 miles to Fort Benning.”

The newly renovated medical home, in a leased portion of the Flournoy Properties complex at 1100 Brookstone Centre Parkway, has state of the art exam and procedure rooms. A pharmacy and laboratory are contained within the 10, 537 square foot facility.

“The Savannah District – United States Army Corps of Engineers enjoys an outstanding relationship with Fort Benning, the construction contractor and Flournoy Company and we hope this medical home will meet the needs of the patients who formerly were seen at the main hospital,” said Graylan Quarterman, realty specialist.
