Recreation and leisure is not only the most well-known pillar of the BOSS program, it’s also the most fun and popular of the three pillars.

Often, recreation and leisure is the only aspect Soldiers are aware of or identify with.

In addition to serving our community and helping Soldiers with any quality-of-life issues they may have, we take great pride in offering the best recreation and leisure program possible.

You don’t have to be involved in any other aspect of BOSS to take advantage of the recreation and leisure activities. Although BOSS events are open to all Soldiers, their spouses and children, as well as authorized DFMWR patrons, some activities are reserved for active-duty single Soldiers only.

Active-duty single Soldiers have precedence over others wanting to participate in any BOSS event.

But, once adequate time has passed to allow single Soldiers the opportunity to sign up — usually one week prior to the event — all other qualified individuals will have the opportunity to participate.

Recreation and leisure activities with BOSS are fun and relaxed. Many times I am asked if participants have to be in uniform to participate. The answer is no. There is no mandatory training or uniforms required for our trips.

You are free to relax and enjoy whatever event or activity provided. Transportation to all BOSS events is not only provided, but required.

When you purchase tickets through BOSS, you are agreeing to participate in the BOSS program activity or event for that given day. BOSS cannot sell tickets for individual use.

You can’t find a better deal anywhere than with the BOSS program. BOSS funds allow us to supplement the cost of an event or activity for Soldiers.

For example, our trip to Panama City Beach, Fla., from Thursday to Sunday is only $99. That’s three nights in Edgewater Beach Resort for under $100. And, don’t forget, that includes transportation. So, there’s no need to worry about high gas prices or the hazards and nuances of driving.

Stay in touch with your BOSS representative and keep informed on all the opportunities with the Fort Benning BOSS program.

If you don’t know who your BOSS representative is, find out. Ask your chain of command. If you don’t have a BOSS representative, volunteer to be one.
